Toyota Motor Company Scholarship Information

Toyota Motor Company, U.S.A. Inc. gives away millions in college scholarships to high school seniors, for their commitment to education and community service, each year.

The winners were chosen from more than 8000 students nominated by their schools nationwide. In order to qualify for the scholarship, students must be proven leaders in academics and their communities.

There are two kinds of scholarships, valued at $20,000 or $10,000 each. They are awarded over a four-year period, for study at a four-year college or university starting in the fall of 2007. Toyota initiated this scholarship program (Toyota Community Scholars) in 1997, and since then has awarded over $12 million in scholarships to 1,100 students across America.

The Toyota Community Scholars program is administered by Educational Testing Services in Princeton, N.J. A panel of college and university admissions officials from Educational Testing Services selected the 12 national winners ($20,000 each) and 88 regional winners ($10,000 each) across the U.S.

Established in 1957, Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc. is the marketing, sales, distribution and customer service arm of Toyota in the United States. TMS markets a number of products and services through a network of 1,427 dealers in 49 states. It is also involved in distribution logistics, motorsports, and research and development.
